As part of its commitment to responsible environmental management, PT Jembo Cable Company Tbk implements the Jembo Cable Green Commitment, a corporate initiative focused on greening and environmental management within the Company’s operational areas. This program forms an integral part of the Company’s efforts to maintain a sustainable balance between industrial activities and environmental preservation.
This initiative is grounded in the understanding that a well-maintained environment is a key factor in supporting the long-term continuity of the Company’s operations. Accordingly, PT Jembo Cable Company Tbk has gradually integrated environmental management activities into its operational processes, in compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
One of the key implementations of the Jembo Cable Green Commitment is the development of green open spaces within the Company’s operational areas. To date, PT Jembo Cable Company Tbk has planted more than 650 hardwood trees, including, among others, mahogany, eucalyptus, teak, rain tree (trembesi), and banyan. These greening activities have been carried out across approximately 4.82 hectares of open land.
The establishment of these green spaces aims to enhance environmental quality around the operational areas, including increasing vegetation coverage, contributing to improved air quality, and creating a more organized and comfortable working environment.
In addition to tree planting activities, the Company also operates plant nurseries as part of its efforts to ensure the sustainability of the greening program. This initiative is intended to secure the availability of plants for future planting, while supporting the gradual and continuous implementation of greening activities.
The plant nursery program reflects the Company’s planned and systematic approach to environmental management, with due consideration given to maintenance and long-term sustainability aspects.
The implementation of the Jembo Cable Green Commitment also supports PT Jembo Cable Company Tbk’s participation in the Corporate Performance Rating Assessment Program in Environmental Management (PROPER) organized by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia.
Through various environmental management initiatives implemented in a measurable and phased manner, the Company strives to comply with prevailing regulations while continuously improving its environmental performance, in line with the principles of compliance and good corporate governance.
The Jembo Cable Green Commitment reflects the Company’s ongoing efforts to conduct its operational activities with due consideration for environmental aspects, as part of its responsibility to stakeholders and the surrounding environment.
